I started with a plan and it ended where He saw fit. This has been the theme of all my Lenten Seasons. It is the theme of Holy Week. Jewish Leaders, Disciples, the Roman Government, the followers of Jesus, all had a plan. But Jesus had another plan.Jesus failed all their expectations
(and ours too) yet fulfilled all our hopes and desires. He saw our narrow visions and instead he sought a greater need and cause. We have our eyes on our personal concerns while he has his eyes on all of creation. We love our own and He loved the whole world.
Holy Week offers us many opportunities to remember the love our Lord had for the world. You could come to the church and meditate on the Stations of the Cross. You could come and remember his commandment for us to love one another as we wash feet and hands on Maundy Thursday. You could come on Friday at noon or in the evening to hear again the last hours of Jesus.
Maybe you can’t make these opportunities. Consider going to our website and hear recordings of our Taize services held during Lent as a way of meditating on His life and death. Finish a devotion that you may have been reading. Read and study the Passion according to Mark, Chapters 14-16. Sit in silence and pray.
Whatever your plan will be, God will lead you to where you need to be. Simply open yourself to God and He will reveal himself to you. There is no greater friendship you will ever have than with God. Don’t jump to Easter without living through Holy Week.
