The word “liturgy” means “the work of the people.” With that inmind, the Lutheran liturgy (worship service) is meant to be participatory. Not a show to watch, you are invited to sing, to pray, to read, to speak, as we actively worship God together. Worship at Christ the Lord is warm, friendly, and open to all. Here are a few keys to help you in your worship experience.

Contemporary worship at 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM — This contemporary worship service, written by a member of the congregation, is printed in the bulletin, as are the hymns. We celebrate Holy Communion on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month..

Holy CommunionWe celebrate together the Meal of Grace.  The Lord is Host.  We are the Guests.  All are invited to the Table to feast in the promise of Jesus to be present in the bread and cup.  Gluten free wafers and white grape juice are available in addition to the regular wafers and red wine.  Communion is by intinction only.
First Communion instruction is given to children in the spring of their 5th grade year.

Nursery — A staffed nursery is provided for 9:00, 10:00, and 11:00 am services, and a copy of our policies and procedures is available to all parents.

Seasonal Services — Special mid-week services are held during Advent, Lent, and Holy Week which include prayer, reflection, and Holy Communion. Occasionally, Taize services are offered. They are quiet and contemplative. The Taize style of worship originated at a monastery in France.
