Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, In the last couple of weeks, Mike Johnson, our stewardship chairperson, has talked about Christ the Lord as our church home. This year our church home has taken on many different shapes. Scripture teaches us that God abides in us wherever we are. That about says it all when you think about our church home in 2020.
We have come together in all sorts of manners. We have come together to worship, learn, and have fellowship. We have gathered online by zoom and Facebook, in parking lots, in limited numbers in the sanctuary, by phone, by email, and in small safe gatherings. God blessed us with people who had skills that we did not know about until we were faced with Covid-19. Nancy Kashan has given hours of her time to filming our service. John Bryant set up our FM transmitter for the parking lot. I believe God equips His people for the work of the kingdom and each of us are used at different times.
God continues to send us out into the world. Several of our members work at the Lawrenceville Co-Op feeding 100’s of families a week. Your donation of many gift cards has helped our members, nurses and people in need in our community. Food has been gathered and dropped off at homes where people are ill. Small weddings, baptisms, funerals have been held in homes and at gravesides. Over a thousand mask were made for nurses at the beginning of this epidemic by semesters in their home. Soon, we will still be able to help families for Christmas by purchasing items virtually on-line.
Our church home may have changed in how we operate, but our church home has not lost its mission in the world. We are still God’s children through our baptism – claimed by God and sent by God to share his abundant grace in our words and actions. God has blessed us abundantly to do it.
We are asking that you continue to do what you have been doing all year. Please support the church with a pledge for next year so that we can continue to fulfill the mission for which God has called us. With the abundance God blessings, we pray that you would share a portion for His work. If you have already submitted your pledge, thank you. If you are planning to mail the form or drop it by the office, Thank you.
You can pledge securely online by requesting a pledge form. Once you establish a password, access to a secure online pledge form will be activated.
How ever you choose to complete your pledge, we ask that you have them submitted by, Sunday, November 22. We thank you in advance for all that you give. In addition, please continue to keep the church in your prayers.
In His Service, Pastor Bob Mitchell
